It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Ruth Brown energies, virtually a rebirth. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Ruth Brown has. This is one of the best Cd’s Ruth Brown has dropped to date. This album is awesome.
I’ve Got Shoes is absolutely incredible. Some of the arrangements found on Gospel Time are surprisingly edgy. Walk With Me one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Swing Low Sweet Chariot makes a person feel astounding. Old Time Religion is almost impossible to review. Song He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands is actually a funny song. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Milky White Way. Deep River actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Ruth Brown’s face. Will The Circle Be Unbroken is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Morning Train is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
