On Super Ape album, Scratch and The Upsetters have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Scratch and The Upsetters energies, virtually a rebirth. Since completing 1976’s ‘Zion’s Blood’, Scratch and The Upsetters fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. One of Scratch and The Upsetters’s best albums yet.
A great put together song. Black Vest - Okay, I just talked about depth. Underground - A catchy, upbeat tune. Musically Curly Dub is superior to other tracks in Super Ape. Dread Lion is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Three In One I just LOVE this mix! One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Patience. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Nice and different song.
