For older fans Inkpot will put a massive smile accross your face. I am not a real Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Inkpot’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Shocking Blue energies, virtually a rebirth. If I may, I suggest “Blue Jean”. That one song is amazing!
Eve and The Apple have really caught my ear and imagination. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Listening to Give My Love To The Sunrise you can hear that Shocking Blue has still amazing chemistry with band members. Hey is almost impossible to review. Shocking Blue rocks harder than ever with I Ain’t Never. I Like You is a striking and quite long song. I Melt Like Butter is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I Saw You In June is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I can’t stop humming along Inkpot. Shocking Blue is one of artists that allow his songs like Jambalaya to stand on their own and be heard. Navajo Tears is one of my favorite songs by Shocking Blue. Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Red Leaves I+II is astounding. Shadows is a medium tempo tune. Overall a nice softer song. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Who Save My Soul is the albums biggest surprise.
