When you buy a Sister Sledge album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Now signed to Sister Sledge’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “All American Girls” leads Sister Sledge’s back-to-school campaign. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Sister Sledge on ‘I Don’t Want To Say Goodbye’. This album is awesome.
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. The sound in Don’t You Let Me Lose It is really warm and Sister Sledge’s signature voice is still very much present. Some of the arrangements found on All American Girls are surprisingly edgy. Ooh, You Caugh My Heart is one of the best records ever. Strong, powerful vocals of Sister Sledge in Happy Feeling are very impressive. From the moment you listen to Next Time You’ll Know you’re hooked. If You Really Want Me is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. He’s Just A Runaway is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I find myself hearing bits of All American Girls here and there throughout my waking hours.
