After seeing She Caught The Katy (Jake), I had to have a good Soundtrack - Various Artists cd. There is so much to love about Soundtrack - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On Blues Brothers album, Soundtrack - Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Blues Brothers constantly brilliant.
Soundtrack - Various Artists offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Gimme Some Lovin’ (Jake) because the melody in the chorus is so good. Shake Your Tail Feathers (Ray Charles) is one of the best records ever. In Everybody Needs Somebody to Love (Elwood & Jake) Soundtrack - Various Artists is at his best. The Old Landmark (James Brown) motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Think (Aretha Franklin) - A strong beat. Theme From Rawhide (Elwood & Jake) gives taste of what makes Soundtrack - Various Artists special as a musician. Minnie The Moocher (Cab Calloway) one of the best in my collection. Sweet Home Chicago (Elwood & Jake) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Jailhouse Rock (Jake) marked the continuation of Soundtrack - Various Artists in style evolution.
