Lead single “Medley Hot Dogs-Cincinnati Flow Rag-New York City Rag” and “Rolll and Tumble Blues” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Medley Hot Dogs-Cincinnati Flow Rag-New York City Rag and Rolll and Tumble Blues is really good.
Only one song from Hot Dogs named Rolll and Tumble Blues really got me. Shake Sugaree motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Voice and instruments in Promised Land complement each other. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Candyman from the beginning to the end. I believe Morning Comes is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt songs ever written. Take a Whiff on me is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Hot Dogs. The do It All Over You Boogie one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Blues for Mr. Sam gets you up and jumping. Medley VestapolThat’s No Way to Get Along is simple, dignified and effective, Stefan Grossman refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Those Lazy Blues - This one is lively and fun.
