On Greatest Hits album, Steve Miller Band have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Greatest Hits isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. For older fans Greatest Hits will put a massive smile accross your face. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Steve Miller Band sings Space Intro in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Steve Miller Band emotions are reflected through Fly Like An Eagle. Jet Airliner one is one of the better boring ones. When listening to Dance Dance Dance, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Give It Up is marvelous and different song. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Some call Swingtown from Greatest Hits as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. In Jungle Love Steve Miller Band is at his best. When I listen to Take The Money and Run in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Steve Miller Band sings his heart out in Rock ‘N Me. The Stake is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Heart Like A Wheel which is my favorite is a truly Steve Miller Band sounding song. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Best song on the album, love it. Steve Miller Band must have run out of lyrics on the next track Cry Cry Cry. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Winter Time - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Steve Miller Band. Wild Mountain Honey is one of these floating songs.
