For older fans Gonna Ball will put a massive smile accross your face. This disc has all of the essential Stray Cats classics. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Stray Cats energies, virtually a rebirth. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Gonna Ball.
Stray Cats rocks harder than ever with Little Miss Prissy. Wasn’t That Good - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Cryin’ Shame which is my favorite is a truly Stray Cats sounding song. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Music of Gonna Ball is gentle, never overbearing. Stray Cats sings Wicked Whisky in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Rev It Up and Go is the most memorable and cool. Lonely Summer Nights one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Crazy Mixed Up Kid is one of the more up-tempo songs on Gonna Ball.
