After debuting at No. 1 last week, Sugarhill Gang’s album 8Th Wonder falls to No. 2 with 341,000, a sales slide of 61%. 8Th Wonder isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Sugarhill Gang was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Sugarhill Gang and 8Th Wonder together. Great Electronic right here!
Apache is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Funk Box is probably one of Sugarhill Gang’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Giggalo - I like this one. Hot Hot Summer Day is another favourite of mine. On The Money is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. The sound of Shodown is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created.
