On Survival of the Fittest: live album, Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Lead single “Survival of the Fittest” and “Rattle my snake” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is so much to love about Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Rattle my snake is a perfect song and it grows on you. Mr. Jones’ hanging Party is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Papa’s Will is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Slidin’ on makes a person feel perfect. Overall a nice softer song.
