Lead single “Back in the Saddle” and “Last Child” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Rocks is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that The Aerosmith has. I wish that “Rocks” album was instrumental.
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Rats in the Cellar (4:05) a good melody. In Combination the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Vocals of The Aerosmith in Sick as a Dog really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Nobody’s Fault has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. The opening track Get the Lead Out is very much like you would expect from other albums. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
