The Beach Boys had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. There is so much to love about The Beach Boys, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lost and Found isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. If you love The Beach Boys as much as I do, then The Beach Boys Lost and Found is the CD for you!
Surfin’ (as Pendeltons 09 15 61) sets the tone for the entire album. Studio Chat pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Surfin’ (First Attempt - 10 03 61) good vocals. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Surfin’ (Master Take Capitol LP-1081 - 10 03 61) because the melody in the chorus is so good. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Luau (First Attempt - 10 03 61) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. It’s such an underrated song. Barbie (as Kenny and Cadets - 03 08 62) is a fine track on any terms. Musically What Is A Young Girl Made Of (as Kenny and Cadets) is superior to other tracks in Lost and Found. Surfin’ Safari (Candix Session - 02 08 62) is another strong production from The Beach Boys. Studio Chat is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. The sound in Surfin’ Safari (Candix Master - 02 08 62) is really warm and The Beach Boys’s signature voice is still very much present. Studio Chat was the first single release from the album Lost and Found. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Surfer Girl (Candix Master - 02 08 62). Judy (Unissued Take - 02 08 62) (2:22) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. After about the third Judy (Candix Master - 02 08 62) listen through, I began to believe this song is The Beach Boys’s essence. I was truly moved when I heard Beach Boy Stomp (aka Karate - 02 08 62). Only one song from Lost and Found named Surfin’ Safari (Overdubs - 02 08 62) really got me. Lavender (Demo - 1961) on Lost and Found is solid and easy to listen to.
