There is so much to love about The Beatles with Tony Sheridan, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “Ain’t She Sweet” and “Cry For A Shadow” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that The Beatles with Tony Sheridan has. Another great offering from The Beatles with Tony Sheridan.
It’s a great pleasure to listen to Cry For A Shadow from the beginning to the end. From the moment you listen to When The Saints Go Marching In you’re hooked. Album opener Why is a bright, upbeat ditty. If You Love Me Baby is a perfect, simple song by The Beatles with Tony Sheridan at the top of his game. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Sweet Georgia Brown is the song that really did it for me. Overall a nice softer song. Ruby Baby is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. My Bonnie is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Early Tapes Of The Beatles. Nobody’s Child is the funkiest number on the album. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Voice of The Beatles with Tony Sheridan in Ya Ya (Parts 1+2) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. A great put together song.
