John Digester has compared writing for The Byrds’s new album to that on ‘Farther Along’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. The Byrds had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. ‘Farther Along’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
A fantastic track full of wonder. Farther Along is probably one of The Byrds’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. B.B. Class Road is simple, dignified and effective, The Byrds refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. So much energy, so exciting a sound.America’s Great National Pastime is another strong production from The Byrds. Antique Sandy is perfect. Precious Kate sets the tone for the entire album. I find myself hearing bits of So Fine here and there throughout my waking hours. Lazy Waters is possibly the best song The Byrds has come up. Bristol Steam Convention Blues is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Lost My Drivin’ Wheel - The Byrds first major hit. Born To Rock ‘N’ Roll is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Farther Along. Bag Full Of Money - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody.
