After seeing Nashville West, I had to have a good The Byrds cd. This album has some very good songs like Nashville West and You’re Still On My Mind. There were many famous songs of The Byrds available. Another great offering from The Byrds.
This track is clearly meant to showcase The Byrds’s vocal abilities. Pretty Boy Floyd is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. The Byrds emotions are reflected through Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Close Up The Honky Tonks is probably the most interesting track on Live At Fillmore. This is one hell of a track. In The Christian Life the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Time Between is just simply stunning. Charming song, great melody. Bad Night At The Whiskey make listening to The Byrds like being in some sort of time warp. This Wheel’s On Fire is the albums biggest surprise. Sing Me Back Home - This is a very lively song. So You Want To Be A Rock ‘n’ Roll Star good vocals. I was truly moved when I heard He Was A Friend Of Mine. Simple and heartfelt closing track Chimes Of Freedom closes Live At Fillmore on a high note.
