This disc has all of the essential The Byrds classics. I am not a real Country: Country-Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’ really is amazing. On Turn! Turn! Turn! album, The Byrds have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. If I may, I suggest “Turn! Turn! Turn!”. That one song is amazing!
The song feels complete. The opening track Set You Free This Time is very much like you would expect from other albums. Once you hear Lay Down Your Weary Tune, you will listen to it over and over. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. It’s a great pleasure to listen to The World Turns All Around Her from the beginning to the end. Satisfied Mind great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Opening track If You’re Gone shows the best of The Byrds. The Times They Are A-Changin’ is astounding. Wait and See is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Oh! Susannah gets you up and jumping. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. She Don’t Care About Time (Single Version) is perfect. After about the third The Times They Are A-Changin’ (first Version) listen through, I began to believe this song is The Byrds’s essence. Voice and instruments in It’s All Over Now Baby Blue (Version 1) complement each other. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. World Turns All Around Her (Alternate Mix) - To me, this is the best song on the Turn! Turn! Turn!. After few listenings I started to like Stranger In A Strange Land more and more.
