Since completing 1980’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, The Cure fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It’s natural for The Cure to take a stab at ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. This album is awesome.
This track is a great song that still never gets old. 1015 Saturday Night is possibly the best song The Cure has come up. Vocals of The Cure in Accuracy really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. So What is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Jumping Someone Else’s Train is really the reason why I recommend buying Boys Don’t Cry. Subway Song is the album’s biggest hit, I think. The sound of Killing An Arab is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Such hits like Fire In Cairo will leave you hooked. Album opener Another Day is a bright, upbeat ditty. Grinding Halt is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Three Imaginary Boys is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit.
