While no new The Cure album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in Europe. Since completing 1981’s ‘The Holy Hour’, The Cure fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There is no doubt that The Cure has talent. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about The Cure ever.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Other Voices, which shows, blatantly, how much The Cure has evolved as a singer. All Cats Are Grey is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything The Cure released so far. In The Funeral Party the music gets its power. Doubt is the albums biggest surprise. The Drowning Man the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Faith is a fine track on any terms.
