On Three Imaginary Boys album, The Cure have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the first studio album from The Cure since bad diagnosis in 1979. This disc has all of the essential The Cure classics. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Once Accuracy gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Grinding Halt motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Song Another Day is actually a funny song. In Object you won’t find any flashy solos. Subway Song has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. I’ve found myself listening to Foxy Lady back to back and back many times. Meat Hook (2:17) a good melody. So What is the song that really did it for me. Fire In Cairo is one of my favorite songs by The Cure. Within the first few notes of It’s Not You it’s perfectly clear that The Cure is living this song. Three Imaginary Boys as a highlight of Three Imaginary Boys contains a ton of excellent melodies. The Cure must have run out of lyrics on the next track The Weedy Burton.
