Workingman’s Dead isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Workingman’s Dead carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After seeing Uncle John’s Band, I had to have a good The Grateful Dead cd. This is what good Rock should be.
High Time is another favourite of mine. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Dire Wolf. New Speedway Boogie the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Cumberland Blues is probably the highlight of the album. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of The Grateful Dead. Music and lyrics of Easy Wind creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Casey Jones is absolutely incredible.
