This disc has all of the essential The Hollies classics. This album has some very good songs like What a Life I’ve Led and Look What We’ve Got. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that The Hollies has. This is my first The Hollies Album and i must say i am blown away.
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Look What We’ve Got is my favorite song on Distant Light. Hold On motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Pull Down the Blind was the first single release from the album Distant Light. To Do With Love is one of the best records ever. Promised Land is a strong cut, one of many. The sound of Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. You Know the Score one of the best in my collection. In Cable Car the music gets its power. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Still going through Distant Light and coming to appreciate Long Dark Road more and more with every listen.
