Buster and Glen isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Ivan Grach has compared writing for The Residents’s new album to that on ‘Buster and Glen’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Self-described as Industrial with lots of words, The Residents comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Semolina is a striking and quite long song. When I listen to Birthday Boy in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. The Residents must have run out of lyrics on the next track Weight-Lifting Lulu. Once you hear Krafty Cheese, you will listen to it over and over. Album opener Hello Skinny is a bright, upbeat ditty. The Electrocutioner is a amazing sing-along.
