It’s natural for The Rods to take a stab at ‘Power Lower’ considering her long-professed love for B.B. King. The Rods isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After seeing Power Lower, I had to have a good The Rods cd. If you love The Rods as much as I do, then The Rods The Rods is the CD for you!
In Crank It Up it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Rods has yet to define own style. Hungry For Some Love is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Music Man is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Woman as a highlight of The Rods contains a ton of cool melodies. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Nothing Going On In The City. Music and lyrics of Get Ready To Rnr creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Music of Ace In The Hole is gentle, never overbearing. Rock Hard is a good listen every once in a while. Roll With The Night is a astounding song and it grows on you. Getting Higer - For me, this is the best of the album. Wings Of Fire one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard.
