It has been nine years The Rolling Stones’ last studio CD, “Some Girls” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. On the Belgium charts, superstar The Rolling Stones’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘Some Girls’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Exciting stuff.
Although When The Whip Comes Down is very melodic it is far from sad. Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) is the funkiest number on the album. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Some Girls is my favorite song on Some Girls. I like the idea behind Lies. Far Away Eyes is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Respectable is a bit different from The Rolling Stones stereotypical stuff. Before They Make Me Run - another great track from the Some Girls album. Beast Of Burden is probably one of The Rolling Stones’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
