Lead single “(Who Likes) Facing Situations” and “Deepwater” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. While no new The Selecter album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in North America. IF YOU LIKE ALL The Selecter’S SONG GO FOR IT! Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Deepwater
Deepwater is possibly the best song The Selecter has come up. I like the idea behind Red Reflections. Tell Me What’s Wrong is nothing but pure genius. Bombscare is gorgeous and different song. Washed Up and Left for Dead is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Once you hear Celebrate the Bullet, you will listen to it over and over. I find myself hearing bits of Selling Out Your Future here and there throughout my waking hours. Cool Blue Lady is the albums biggest surprise. Their Dream Goes On is a strong cut, one of many. Bristol and Miami - I just love it. The Whisper is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Put Train the Skaville into car stereo for your highway driving Last Tango in Dub is perfect. Although Train to Skaville [12” Version] is very melodic it is far from sad.
