After seeing long mix, I had to have a good The Sisters Of Mercy cd. Lead single “long mix” and “LUCRETIA -remix” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. On the Slovenia charts, superstar The Sisters Of Mercy’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. I wish that “Demos and Remixes” album was instrumental.
LUCRETIA -remix one of the best in my collection. Voice and instruments in MARIAN -japan version complement each other. I think NO TIME TO CRY -alternativ version is the best song The Sisters Of Mercy has ever done. So much energy, so exciting a sound.ANACONDA -outtake is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything The Sisters Of Mercy released so far. Such hits like AFTERHOUR -demo will leave you hooked. Lyrics of DANCE ON GLASS -demo are precise and evocative. HEARTLAND -demo one is one of the better boring ones. The Sisters Of Mercy emotions are reflected through JOLENE -demo. There is amazing mix of music in BODY ELECTRIC -session. Once VALENTINE -demo gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. It’s such an underrated song. DOMINION -eldritch mix is a fine track on any terms. I now have A ROCK & A HARD PLACE - alternativ version as one of my personal favorites.
