There is so much to love about The Stranglers, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. IF YOU LIKE ALL The Stranglers’S SONG GO FOR IT! This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that The Stranglers has. If you want to hear real Punk, get this record now!
I like the idea behind Nice’n'Sleazy. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Hey! (Rise Of The Robots) - My least favorite song on this album. The Stranglers sings his heart out in Sweden (All Quiet On The Eastern Front). Get Black and White and turn on Toiler On The Sea if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Some of the arrangements found on Black and White are surprisingly edgy. In Threatened it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Stranglers has yet to define own style. In The Shadows is really the reason why I recommend buying Black and White. Do You Wanna is the song that really did it for me. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Enough Time is pretty funky and mellow. Mean To Me is simple, dignified and effective, The Stranglers refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy.
