Now signed to The Velvet Underground’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Live at Max’s Kansas City” leads The Velvet Underground’s back-to-school campaign. On Live at Max’s Kansas City album, The Velvet Underground have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that The Velvet Underground has. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Sweet Jane is a bit different from The Velvet Underground stereotypical stuff. The Velvet Underground sings Lonesome Cowboy Bill in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Beginning to See the Light has a fun tempo. I’ll Be Your Mirror one is one of the better boring ones. Pale Blue Eyes have really caught my ear and imagination. Sunday Morning - This one makes me want to not only sing along. New Age is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Femme Fatale is a song to enjoy for years to come. Within the first few notes of After Hours it’s perfectly clear that The Velvet Underground is living this song.
