Stanley Donwood has compared writing for The Ventures’s new album to that on ‘Rock and Roll Forever’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Now signed to The Ventures’s Savoy Records, the title track from second album “Rock and Roll Forever” leads The Ventures’s back-to-school campaign. Lead single “Honky Tonk (Parts 1 and 2)” and “Last Night” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Great Ethnic right here!
Last Night - Okay, I just talked about depth. Smokie which is my favorite is a truly The Ventures sounding song. Music of Rumble is gentle, never overbearing. You Can’t Sit Down is almost impossible to review. The first time I listened to Ram-Bunk-Shush I was struck by its cool sound. 20-75 hits the heart. Put Guitar Boogie Shuffle into car stereo for your highway driving Raunchy pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. The Ventures sings his heart out in Soul Twist. Sleep Walk - A nice song.
