It has been twelve years The Ventures’ last studio CD, “The Ventures” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is so much to love about The Ventures, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “The Shuck” and “Detour” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The Ventures constantly brilliant.
Detour - I like this one. Ram Bunk Shush rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Don’t judge Hawaiian War Chant on the first listening. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This song is dynamic and dramatic. In Blue Tango you won’t find any flashy solos. Ups N Downs is a fine track on any terms. Lonesome Town without a doubt is the standout song of The Ventures. When I listen to Torquay in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Wailin’ - This one is lively and fun. Moon Of Manakoora is the most memorable and exquisite.
