‘The Ventures A Go-Go’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. sixteen years ago, The Ventures briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Go-Go Show”. There is no doubt that The Ventures has talent. The Ventures A Go-Go constantly brilliant.
Go-Go Show catches attention immediately, Louie Louie which is my favorite is a truly The Ventures sounding song. Night Stick - A catchy, upbeat tune. La Bamba is perfect. The ‘In’ Crowd is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Wooly Bully is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. A Go-Go Guitar defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. A Go-Go Dancer is one of these floating songs. The Swingin’ Creeper is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. Whitter Blvd (2:34) - awsome. The Ventures allows each song to breathe and flourish. I loved Gemini the first time I heard it. Within the first few notes of Indian Summer it’s perfectly clear that The Ventures is living this song. Tarantella is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
