Now signed to Throbbing Gristle’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “D.O.A. The Third And Final Report” leads Throbbing Gristle’s back-to-school campaign. This disc has all of the essential Throbbing Gristle classics. After seeing I.B.M., I had to have a good Throbbing Gristle cd. Overall, I would highly recommend D.O.A. The Third And Final Report CD.
Hit By A Rock is a marvelous song and it grows on you. United sets the tone for the entire album. In Valley of the Shadow of Death the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Throbbing Gristle is hitting on all cylinders in Dead on Arrival. Throbbing Gristle sings his heart out in Weeping. Hamburger Lady is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Voice of Throbbing Gristle in Hometime is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. The song feels complete. Throbbing Gristle rocks harder than ever with E-Coli. I was truly moved when I heard Death Threats. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Blood on the Floor is the funkiest number on the album. I find myself hearing bits of Five Knuckle Shuffle here and there throughout my waking hours. Some of the arrangements found on D.O.A. The Third And Final Report are surprisingly edgy.
