fifteen years ago, Van Halen briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Bottoms Up!”. Since Van Halen last CD (Van Halen II) on Virgin Records back in 1979, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is the first studio album from Van Halen since bad diagnosis in 1979. Check it every song is worth the money for the Van Halen II CD!
Voice of Van Halen in Bottoms Up! is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Van Halen II. Opening track Dance The Night Away shows the best of Van Halen. Although Light Up The Sky is very melodic it is far from sad. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. The sound in Somebody Get Me A Doctor is really warm and Van Halen’s signature voice is still very much present. Don’t judge Spanish Fly on the first listening. Women In Love… is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. You’re No Good is worth the money.
