Lead single “Generique” and “La Petite fille de la Mer” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since completing 1973’s ‘Generique’, Vangelis fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘L’Apocalypse Des Animaux’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. If I may, I suggest “Generique”. That one song is amazing!
La Petite fille de la Mer has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Vangelis has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Only one song from L’Apocalypse Des Animaux named La Mort Du Loup really got me. I now have L’Ours Musicien as one of my personal favorites. Creation Du Monde is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. La Mer Recommeencee good vocals.
