This is the first studio album from Vangelis since bad diagnosis in 1979. It has been five years Vangelis’ last studio CD, “Opera Sauvage” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Vangelis’s album Opera Sauvage falls to No. 2 with 220,000, a sales slide of 63%. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Opera Sauvage.
After about the third Reve listen through, I began to believe this song is Vangelis’s essence. Vangelis rocks harder than ever with L’enfant. Mouettes is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. The first time I listened to Chromatique I was struck by its astounding sound. Irlande - a classic song. Within the first few notes of Flamant Roses it’s perfectly clear that Vangelis is living this song.
