Since Wayne Shorter last CD (Wayning Moments) on Savoy Records back in 1962, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is the first studio album from Wayne Shorter since bad diagnosis in 1962. This album has some very good songs like Black Orpheus and Devil’s Island. Such great and happy songs.
One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Devil’s Island because the melody in the chorus is so good. Moon of Manakoora is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Dead End great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Wayning Moments has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Charming song, great melody. Some of the arrangements found on Wayning Moments are surprisingly edgy. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. In Black Orpheus the music gets its power. Voice and instruments in Devil’s Island complement each other. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Dead End on Wayning Moments is solid and easy to listen to. Get Wayning Moments and turn on Wayning Moments if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Powder Keg had me crying as I was able to relate so well. All or Nothing at All - A nice song. Song Callaway Went That-A-Way is actually a funny song.
