On 8:30 (CD 2) album, Weather Report have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new Weather Report album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1979 tour in Australia. When you buy a Weather Report album, you know exactly what you’re getting! One of Weather Report’s best albums yet.
Don’t judge Thanks For The Memory on the first listening. This track is full of harmonies and gets 8:30 (CD 2) off to a relaxing start. 11171 rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Brown Street (8:37) a good melody. The Orphan is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Sightseeing marked the continuation of Weather Report in style evolution.
