It has been fifteen years Willie Colon’ last studio CD, “Asalto NavideAo 2″ which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Asalto NavideAo 2 is not something you should pass up.
Some call DoAa Santos from Asalto NavideAo 2 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The sound in Pa’ Los Pueblos is really warm and Willie Colon’s signature voice is still very much present. Arbolito has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Willie Colon’s strong vocals come to the fore. It’s a great pleasure to listen to La Banda from the beginning to the end. Cantemos is the more seemingly obscure song on Asalto NavideAo 2 that bear up best to repeated listening. Pescado make listening to Willie Colon like being in some sort of time warp. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
