This is the first studio album from Yves Montand since bad diagnosis in 1956. I am not a real Chanson music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Concert A Moscou’ really is amazing. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Yves Montand’s new album to that on ‘Concert A Moscou’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Exciting stuff.
Une Demoiselle Sur Une Balancoire is astounding work of Yves Montand. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. This is probably my favorite song on the album. In Le Chemin Des Oliviers the music gets its power. Les Routiers - A nice song. Les Cireurs De Souliers De Broadway is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Yves Montand sings his heart out in A Paris. Les Feuilles Mortes is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Yves Montand. Le Gamin De Paris is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Planter Cafe is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This track is clearly meant to showcase Yves Montand’s vocal abilities. In Mon Manege A Moi it becomes nowhere more obvious that Yves Montand has yet to define own style. Only one song from Concert A Moscou named Les Grands Boulevards really got me. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create.
